Filling the Space Between is a series containing nine pieces, four of those being either a diptych or triptych. The series was produced as a group of odd sized painting designed to hang filling the space between areas in the home or office that are too narrow to suit a standard sized piece. The works were painted using the action style made popular by Jackson Pollock, then adapted to my own way of working. After the basic structure of the painting was complete, I went back in and brightened up certain areas to give the illusion of light streaming forth.
The title of the series also has a deeper more person meaning; where upon reading the series title, then the title of the piece, one discovers how the painting shows an emotional connection to each piece at the time it was being produced.
